Legatoria d’Arte Capuozzo was born in Naples about 40 years ago from an idea of Antonio Capuozzo. Over the years, Antonio has become a skilled craftsman in the field of artistic bookbinding earning the trust of the most famous libraries of the city and the National Library of Naples. Time passing, even the children have learned the techniques and secrets of the trade, keeping intact the Antonio’s philosophy: every single book requires great attention to detail.
When the children started to work full time in the laboratory, it cames the need to deal with a different audience, and it is then that the bookbinding craftsmen began to make some leather notebooks.
The customer appreciation leads artisans to expand the production, started to design and produce more new items, all made in premium leather. In 2004 the bookbindery moved to Lucca, in Tuscany, where today Antonio, with the children Salvatore and Mario perform dozens of different objects with the best leather of the tuscan tanneries. Today, the bookbindery, which is located in the historic center of Lucca, has become the reference point for all fans of leather, where each object, either a notebook or photo album, can be customized in shape and in color according to customer's taste.
The flagship product is, without doubt, the miniature books and the miniature albums, leather bound with skill and precision, the result of a decade of experience in the sign of the Antonio’s philosophy: every object requires to be treated in detail.
In June 2012 it inaugurated the opening of the new store "Officina della Pelle" just for the sale of leather crafts in the heart of Lucca's historical center, in Via Fillungo, near Piazza Santa Maria. Thanks to the continuous selection of the finest leathers and the constant search for new ideas, the new store is now appreciated by customers becoming a point of reference for lovers of artistic craftsmanship in leather.
